I have Orycon Memberships and I can not go this year and I can not roll them again. There is two ways I can offer them, Either as 2 adults and 2 children or as 3 adult memberships. I am asking for the price that was paid for the memberships which was $45 for each adult membership and $22.50 for the kids(kids = 6yrs to 12yrs) after that they equal adult ticket. Please let me know if you would like.
My home computer is still toast, and I'm still swamped at work. Still, eating lunch at my dest means I can at least try to catch up for a moment.
Yesterday R and I were both home for the holiday and we managed to get both PODS completely unloaded (with the help of one of his co-workers and a bribe of cheap american beer), all of the fabric totes taken up to my sewing/ craft room, and all of the furnature where it should be. We'll need to secure the bookshelves before I start loading them down with books as they're already leaning while completely empty, so I've got stacks of boxes I can't unload yet.
Tonight will be one (hopefully) last run to the old house to pick up the last few things, do a final clean out of the fridge, and load up everything to take to charity, because if I don't R will just toss it all in the garbage and I hate being wasteful.
I'm going to meet up with the ever fabulous Mort, and P3H tomorrow after work and head down to the culinary symposium. After the dust has settled from this year's culinary symposium, I'm going to start ratcheting up teacher invites and other logisitics of next year's, and asking others for their opinions on a few things, like after 2010 if it might work to have it switch locations every other year between AnTir and the West or Caid, and if there's any preference between the two locations we're currently looking at.
I'm a little sad that I'll be missing Harvest Feast, and the Madrone Culinary Guild's Sausage making day (which I've been thinking of as Eduardo's sausage fest because I apparently have the sense of humor of a 12 yr old boy). I know there will be other opportunities, but I really wanted to support the local culinary folks, and I also really wanted to go play with meat preservation, but I really want to support the symposium and see it flourish, so that's were I'll be.
Hopefully that light I see coming isn't a train....

My hubby Grahd wrote this post on the Fall of the Berlin Wall and as I'm still kind of dim on creating links to posts, I'll just copy it here.
Current Music:Time in a Bottle
20 years ago, 1989, Berlin, Germany. As a young second lieutenant, I saw the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union. It did not come from governments but with a crowd of people tearing down one of the most hated symbols of the two Germanys. Yes, I was there the night the Berlin wall ceased to serve its purpose. Since that time, the Soviet Union collapsed and with it, the Warsaw Pact. I look back now twenty years later and it's still hard for me to believe that we were so close to utter stupidity and yet, even now, all you have to look to other areas and the same arrogance still exists. I wish for all to also remember the men and women who served so there was not war but an uneasy peace. The Cold War lasted for so long but it's already forgotten by most. To my fellow Cold War veterans, thank you, we all won.
I agree. Thank you to all the veterans and active duty personnel who have served and are serving. Happy Veteran's Day!

Work has been absolutely non-stop insane today and I thought I'd be stuck at work until 6:00PM for a research conference. I was totally wrong.
I'll be stuck at work until 7:00PM for a research conference, wheee! On the upside, I'm hoping this means I can leave two hours early on Friday for the Culinary Symposium.
I'm hoping R can manage to wrap up the last bits on the old house tonight so we can spend Wednesday and Thursday night focusing on unloading the PODS.

Just finished watching the memorial service on MSNBC at Ft. Hood. Now I can cry for the lost of my brothers and sisters. But I will remember them.

Technically, I had a four day weekend. Unfortunately it wasn't restful as I spent the entire weekend working on the old house and there's still a bit left to do. Fortunately we seem to be in the home stretch. There are just a few more things to be moved, a load or two for charity, and another 1-2 car loads of stuff to take over.
Unfortunately my much beloved but neglected Victorian couch suffered another set back on Friday when my father helped me get it down the stairs. He's of the "if it's stuck, push harder" school of thought and now it has a few paint scratches and a broken leg in addition to the stuffing and upholstery refurbishment it's been needing. Still, Maddy (who's LJ I'm totally blanking on) does fantastic work so we'll see if she can bring it back to life. In the mean time unfortunately I think I'm going to have to put in my garage on a tarp until it potentially goes for repairs. I'm giving away my rolling butcher's block and I've already got someone who wants it and will take it away, and take the couch to the new house for us.
In addition to the stress of moving and now coming up on this weekends final deadline, my computer died, followed by the battery on my cell phone. Gah! Hopefully once we're over this last hump the down hill will be as refreshing and good as the uphill battle has been long, exhausting and frustrating. :)

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test ...
Balanced, Secure, and Realistic.
19 Impressionist, 6 Islamic, 2 Ukiyo-e, -19 Cubist, -16 Abstract and -5 Renaissance!

People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.
